Beneficiary’s Past (please include details that depict beneficiary’s background, including where he/she lives, socio-economic conditions, family and work details): Mr. Irfan Shaikh is 22 year old trainee with many dreams in his eyes. His Family belongs to Islam Community. His Family migrated to Dharavi from Uttar Pradesh. He has born and brought up in Dharavi slum in Mumbai. He is the only son to his parents with two sisters.

Why there was a need for intervention:  He was very depressed and he needs financial help. In his family there were several issues. During the intervention, we found he has lots of  potential, if he get a chance to enroll in our course he will  overcome his situation.

Challenges/problems faced by the beneficiary before intervention: His success inspires to youth who could not finish formal education, but looking a way to get opportunities to learn the unlearn the skill. He merely finished formal education till 9^th Standard due to financial crises he could not pursue higher education and his dream was just a dream. He came to know about Shield Foundation, the SMART Program through his friend.

1. How TMF supported the beneficiary:We identified his family issues during regular interaction. Irfan has shown his interest, he was eager to learn, he was good in all subjects. He was a regular student. His family atmosphere is not good so we always give Counseling to him and his family. 

• Change in the life of the beneficiary (please mention the positive changes in his/her life that has happened because of TMF’s intervention): This was a turning point in his life. He introduced a new course “ITES” in the skill development program and enroll him. He was hesitating to attend the lectures due to “English”. Shield foundation boosts his confidence by conducting the counseling session. He successfully completes the session. He is placed in Apollo Diagnostic Centre and earning about Rs 10,000 per Month. He is happy and again set up an example to his family and society. 
• Quotes (quotes from beneficiary where he/she talks about the positive change in his/her life): Irfan is  very happy, because now he is working  and became independent. He never thought that one day he will work.
• Quotes from Project head/supervisor/staff (quotes depicting the support TMF provided to the beneficiary):Irfan is sincere in his work. He placed in Apollo Diagnostic Centre as a Receptionist Dharavi. Now he is doing a great job and he is very happy. He is getting a good salary.

• Now (after TMF’s intervention), how does the beneficiary envisage his/her future:We envisage a very bright future for Irfan. We feel like very shortly he can take the leading position in his profession.
