Beneficiary’s Past (please include details that depict beneficiary’s background, including where he/she lives, socio-economic conditions, family and work details): Ms. Priti Bhandari is 20 years old trainee. She has born and resides in Dharavi slum in Mumbai. She is the only daughter to her parents. Her father is a Hawker and mother is a Domestic Worker.

Why there was a need for intervention:  She was very depressed and she needs financial help. In her family there were several issues. During the intervention, we found she has lots of  potential, if she get a chance to enroll in our course then she will  overcome her situation.

Challenges/problems faced by the beneficiary before intervention: Her success inspires to girls who are looking a way to get opportunities to learn the unlearn skills. She merely finished formal education till 10th Standard due to financial crises she could not pursue higher education. She came to know about shield foundation, the SMART Program through her friend.

1. How TMF supported the beneficiary:We identified her family issues during regular interaction. Priti has shown her interest, she was eager to learn, she was good in all subjects. Priti was quite irregular, but her grasping power and interest of learning, she has covered her missed topics. End of the course when she supposed to join a job, her father was opposing her Because they were planning about her marriage. But priti was disagreeing with her parents because she doesn’t want to get married so soon, though she fought with the family and joined the job. Because she wanted to become an independent.

• Change in the life of the beneficiary (please mention the positive changes in his/her life that has happened because of TMF’s intervention): This was turning point of her life. She introduced a new course “ITES” in the skill development program and enroll her. She successfully completes the session. She is placed in Swath Foundation and earning about Rs 9600per Month. She is happy and again set up an example to society.

They are happy because after completing her course, she started earning.

We feel like very shortly she can take the leading position in her profession. In addition to that, we feel that with her knowledge, she will definitely look after her parents more effectively.
