Shield Foundation took up this project in 2018 in collaboration with Tcch-Mahindra Foundation (TMF) and has placed numerous students both domestically and internationally. This is a self-sufficient centre that makes furnitures (chairs, racks, tables, cupboards) from scratch and provides them to our other centres. We have two Master Instructors, for practical and theoretical training each. The duration of the course is for 6 months. We provide theoretical training for 3 months and place the students for On Job Training for the remaining 3 months. The course covers all the basic welding skills on equipments like TIG, MIG, Gas Cutting using Oxygen, Acetlyn and Argon gases. Advanced Welding courses would be introduced to the students from this financial year. The students are also trained on work place readiness, basic communicative English and basic computer skills. They are also aided with placement facilities. In the year 2017-18, out of 67 welding students, 43 students were placed (37 were placed locally with a package of 9,500 Rs- 12,000 Rs per month and 6 were placed internationally for a package of Rs. 45,000 Rs-50,000Rs).
